Sitting pretty right inside the bustling beating heart of Leicester Square, The Londoner has revelled in a glittering assemblage of luxe awards since its slick luxe emergence into the five star hotel realm in 2021.
Nimbly settled atop as the Londoner’s luxe crowning jewel lies the slick, alluring alfresco terrain of 8 at The Londoner. Whisked up in a blink of an eye to the discerning of the eighth floor (of course), haute-monde cliques are embraced into a backdrop of Tokyo’s sultry elegance with London’s smooth swagger, and just the right amount of smug, cocooned of moody lighting, slick black walls, and warm wood panelling, like a Bond villain’s dream lounge (but with better cocktails).
The Londoner takes great elation in introducing their fresh 8 Tastes of Japan menu, showcasing a seductive sybaritic symphony of cocktails and small plates for their discerning diners, all artfully choreographed to echo Japanese culinary icons. The Palom-pura fizzes with citrus and umami, a sudachi-laced shōchū highball kissed with grapefruit and served alongside tempura tiger prawns, light as lace, with a whisper of truffle and the silken tang of yuzu.


Then, a sultry detour: The Wagyu, a velvet-rich blend of Nikka whisky, wagyu-fat wash and bitter amari, paired with its edible twin, a wagyu “hot dog” cloaked in gorgonzola hash and finished with a flirt of habanero heat. Dessert is liquid too: Storm Mochi, a mellow red bean distillate with Cocchi Americano; gentle, floral, and entirely transportive.
